Jared Talley is a doctoral student in Philosophy. He was born and raised in Idaho with a personal appreciation and deep respect for the preservation and conservation of the local. In his doctoral program he is intent on studying the ways in which communities can help to govern their local natural resources. He has worked closely with state and federal resource agencies to further their community engagement practices and hopes to continue impacting effective and ethical management of our environment by promoting this community engagement in policy making. Jared’s non-academic interests revolve around the outdoors and creating things. He is an avid backpacker, enjoying the environment from the soles of his shoes, and can often be found near a river.
