Background:

I am a second-year master's student working in Dr. Cheryl Murphy's Lab. I am also a part of the Quantitative Fisheries Center and have been working with them since the fall of 2022. I am originally from Petoskey, Michigan, but I moved to East Lansing in 2018 for undergrad and ended up sticking around for graduate school as well! I have a B.S. in Environmental Biology/ Zoology and am currently working on my M.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife. I have always had a passion for learning about freshwater ecosystems and the impact that chemical contaminants have on them. Due to these interests, I chose to research the impacts of PFAS chemicals on lake whitefish, lake trout and steelhead trout. As part of my research, I will be working to create a model that will simulate population level impacts of PFAS contamination in the Great Lakes ecosystem. Outside of my academic life, I love to spend time in the outdoors skiing, swimming, golfing, and hiking!
