Nancy joined MSU in February of 2016 as the associate director for corporate and foundation relations for CANR. In addition to being an externally oriented representative of CANR, she serves as a liaison between the CANR and the central University Advancement Corporate and Foundations Relations team. Nancy is passionate about the mission of CANR, where students are learning to use the principles of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business and creative design in tackling some of the world’s biggest problems related to food, energy and the environment.
Prior to joining MSU, she served as a market development specialist for the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) managing a portfolio of approximately $11 million in federal and state funds and 150 grantees. Nancy also coordinated all commodity activity on the behalf of MDARD. In the ten years she spent with MDARD, she also served as MDARD’s legislative director and as a policy analyst with the Food and Dairy Division.
Prior to serving at MDARD, Nancy worked for the Michigan Legislature, where she served in a variety of capacities with the Michigan House of Representatives and Michigan Senate.
Nancy holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Northwood University.
