Research Interests: Evaluating participation effectiveness in planning and design, accessible design, integrative learning, learner-centered teaching, community based learning, and curriculum development of professional planning and design education in Tier 1 research institutions.


Degree:

Bachelor of Science in horticulture from the University of Missouri – Columbia, Masters of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University and PhD in environmental design and planning from Arizona State University.

Pat Crawford, is an associate professor of Landscape Architecture in the School of Planning, Design and Construction. She received her Bachelor of Science in horticulture from the University of Missouri – Columbia, Masters of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University and PhD in environmental design and planning from Arizona State University. Crawford is a licensed landscape architect and has nine years practice experience with the Missouri Division of State Parks. Her interests include landscape site design, master planning, park design, community engagement, accessible design, design graphics, field sketching and design competitions. Through the scholarship of teaching and learning Crawford pursues studies in integrative learning, active learning, community-based learning, problem-based learning, study abroad and curriculum development of professional planning and design education and soft skill (employability) development. She is a member of MSU’s Lilly Teaching Fellows and the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture.
