Patrick comes back to Michigan State University with 18 years of industry experience in distribution packaging, field analysis, and lab simulation. A 1997 graduate of the School of Packaging, Patrick spent 14 years with UPS as a Packaging Engineer/Supervisor with its Package Design and Test Lab. During that time, he received his Master’s in Supply Chain Management and his MBA from Elmhurst College. In 2011, Patrick moved to Texas to work for Consolidated Nuclear Securities at the Pantex facility. There he worked with nuclear weapons and disassembled components used for the Department of Defense's nuclear military deterrent, managing the company’s Containers and Special Packaging section.
Patrick is currently the Chair of the International Safe Transit Association’s (ISTA) Technical Division Board. He is also a Member of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D10 Committee. He is a past board member of the MSU School of Packaging Alumni Association. He was the Past Chair of the IoPP Transport Packaging Committee. He has achieved Lifetime Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) status through the IoPP. He is a Certified Packaging Laboratory Professional (CPLP) in the Technician, Technologist, and Professional levels through the ISTA.
Patrick lives in Mason with his wife, Juliane, and their sons, Iain and Lochlan.
