Ghasemlou has received M.S. and B.S. degrees in Food Science from top
universities in Iran. He has years of experience in the field of packaging
development and characterization and is skilled in many valuable sub-fields.
His expertise lies in active packaging, and his work focuses on identifying
ideal materials for the development of novel or alternative packaging methods. He
has produced an extensive number of publications and many refereed research
articles. He is presently a Doctoral Candidate in Packaging Science.
Currently, smart packaging material development and antimicrobial packaging are the major on-going project areas. His research area is aimed at identifying ideal materials for the development of new active packaging. He is particularly interested to quantify the release profile of antimicrobial compounds from both nature and synthetic packaging. Mehran is working with Dr. Maria Rubino since 2013.
