Sophia Chau

Biography: Sophia's primary research interest is in climate change adaptation. She earned a B.S. in environmental science from the University of Notre Dame in 2017. Her undergraduate research focused on resource tradeoffs to inform habitat management for the endangered Karner blue butterfly. The summer after graduating, Sophia worked for the National Park Service at Devils Postpile National Monument. She collaborated with park staff and climate scientists to develop adaptation strategies to manage the monument as a potential climate change refugia. Her PhD research at MSU aims to apply the telecoupling framework to adaptation.
