The Michigan State Dairy Plant utilizes time-honored methods i the production of our Cheddar cheeses. By mirroring practices established in this cheese's country of origin, we consistently yield Cheddar that is firm in texture with a rich, warm, creaminess; manifesting a savory tang as the cheese is aged. For golden Cheddar, milk is colored with a tasteless, odorless, natural vegetable dye made from Annatto seeds. Mild Cheddar is aged a minimum of three months before packaging.
