Check List #3 For Adoption of an Interim Zoning Ordinance in Michigan

DOWNLOAD

July 25, 2016 - Kurt Schindler

This pamphlets present a chronological step-by-step checklist to walk a county, village and city, or township through the process of adopting of an interim zoning ordinance in Michigan. Only a "zoning commission" can recommend adoption of an interim zoning ordinance. However as of July 1, 2011 "zoning commission" no longer exist (powers and duties are transferred to a planning commission) -- and thus interim zoning can no longer be adopted.  The checklist follows Michigan Zoning Enabling Act of 2006 statutory requirements, superceding the old acts as of July 1, 2006.   The checklist also indicates what documentation should be kept on file.
