Beware of Hidden Sodium - Tips for Better Choices

If you have diabetes, it can be difficult to navigate the food pantry, food sodium content and portions. Use this two-sided, printable guide to help you determine sodium in common pantry foods and what portion sizes really look like.

Having diabetes increases your risk for cardiovascular (heart) disease. The American Heart Association recommends an ideal limit of no more than 1,500 milligrams (mgs) of sodium per day for most adults.
