Calling all horticulture students!

Are you an aspiring horticulturist or botanist? Do you ever dream of creating new plants to be showcased in homes around the world? Dr. Allan Armitage would like to help!

Dr. Armitage is looking to help two- and four-year science and horticulture students take their love of plants to a new level by providing knowledge and $1,000 towards their education.

As a recipient of the Dr. Allan Armitage Scholarship for the Ornamental Spring Trials, you will travel to the California Spring Trials and receive:

  • First-hand experience about the plants that the industry will be offering in the future
  • First-hand view of the trends that the industry believes will become the norm in the future
  • A mentor, like Dr. Allan Armitage, Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., while walking through the greenhouses of the world’s major plant breeders
  • The nuts and bolts of the ornamental industry as they reveal themselves better at the California Spring Trials with Dr. Armitage

If you truly believe that you have chosen the right path for your future and have a passion to learn more about the industry, now is your chance to learn from the most highly respected expert in the country.

Submit a 500-word essay on why you are passionate about pursuing a career in plant breeding/horticulture, and a letter of recommendation from your college professor no later than November 30. Dr. Armitage will announce the winner of the scholarship in December.
