MSU has secured an agreement with Google to offer MSU Google Apps Education Edition to our faculty, academic faculty retirees, students and staff.

Appropriate use: When using these services, users are advised to be extremely careful about appropriate use. Considerations include sensitive data, privacy, and intellectual property.

MSU Google Apps Education Edition includes the following:

  • Google Calendar - Organize schedules and share events and calendars with others.
  • Google Drive and Docs - Share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Collaborate in real-time with your team or with your whole school. You can publish final documents to the entire world, too.
  • Google Sites - Work together to keep related documents, Web content, and other information in one place, on one site.


MSU Google Apps includes access to Google Drive which is a file storage and synchronization service. This service enables user cloud storage, file sharing and collaborative editing. It is also the home of the Google Docs suite of productivity applications. Those applications offer collaborative editing on documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and more.

MSU Google Apps users who use Google Drive can install client software to mount the drive on their computer and have it easily accessible.  Follow instructions in MSU TechBase articles below for installing Google Drive on you Windows PC or Apple/Mac computer. 

Installing Google Drive on your Computer: 

Once Google Drive is installed on your computer, saved documents are filed on both your computer and online in your MSU Google Drive storage space.
