    My Horse University (MHU) was established in 2005 at MSU, the pioneer land-grant university with nationally ranked programs in equine science and management. MHU brings research and knowledge from world-renowned experts to online courses and products. MHU’s courses provide a comprehensive and convenient learning experience for horse enthusiasts throughout the world. Courses include:

  • 4-H Michigan Horse Judges

    The 4-H Michigan Horse Judges course is a professional development resource for certified 4-H horse judges in Michigan. The course site includes links to recordings from past conferences and the annual exam.

  • My Horse University Summer Horse Care 101

    The Michigan State University Extension Equine Team has put together a Summer Horse Care online course series and is offering it FREE of charge during 2020.

  • Halter: Horse Adult Leader Training and Educational Resource

    This series of lessons is designed to offer equine science information, student activities and techniques to foster positive youth development.

  • My Horse University: Horse Selection and Evaluation

    The Horse Selection and Evaluation course is based on the knowledge of equine experts at Michigan State University and nationally recognized equine professionals. In this course, you will discover a wealth of resources for learning about many factors that contribute to sound decisions when selecting a horse for a specific use. Horse ownership can be a rewarding experience, and selecting the right horse is the first step!

  • Emergency Response to Accidents Involving Livestock virtual training

    This virtual training provides participants with the information needed to effectively and efficiently respond to an accident where animals are involved.

  • My Horse University: Horse Health 101

    In this certificate course you will learn skills such as identifying early signs of health problems, evaluating a horse’s health status on a daily and sometimes hourly basis and responding appropriately to emergency situations as they arise.
