Icons and Folders

This DOS Payroll software program is being supported through the 2005 tax year. All users are being encouraged to select the Pensoft® Payroll Plus or Pensoft® Payroll Plus Professional for future payroll needs.

Note: The instructions on this page can be printed with the pdf version.

The DOS programs must exist on the computer (see How to Restore Telfarm Payroll and Accounting Backup Data and Programs), then you can make a folder for Telfarm and create shortcut Icons to easily access previous years data on your Windows Desktop.

  1. Create a Telfarm Folder to store all Telfarm years.
If you already have a TELFARM folder, skip to B.
    1. Right click on your Windows screen
    2. Highlight NEW
    3. Left click on FOLDER
    4. This will put a NEW FOLDER on your Windows desktop
    5. Type TELFARM to rename the folder
    6. Press ENTER to set it

  2. Create an icon to access previous year's records (directions for Accountant shortcut)
    1. Double click the TELFARM folder to open it
    2. Right Click somewhere inside the TELFARM folder where you want to put a new shortcut
    3. This will bring up a menu
    4. Highlight NEW
    5. Left Click on SHORTCUT
    6. Type the location as C:\TELFARM\ACCOUNT.EXE
    7. Click NEXT
    8. Type a new name for the shortcut (Example: ACC05)
    9. Click NEXT
    10. It will show you an icon, click FINISH
    11. Double Click on the icon or new shortcut name to open it

  3. To create a Payroll icon (shortcut)
    1. Follow the same instructions, but substitute on the location or command line: C:\PAYROLL\PAYROLL.EXE
    2. Name the shortcut (Example: PAY05)

NOTE: The previous year's subdirectory names may be substituted on the command line or location: (ACC04, PAY04, ACC03, PAY03 etc.) The C:\ and ACCOUNT.EXE or PAYROLL.EXE always remain the same.
