Telfarm Basics

Telfarm financial record keeping is a set of flexible services that meets clients needs from software used only on the farm to all financial transactions sent to the Telfarm center for processing. These services and programs can be mixed in various ways to provide levels of services.

Accounting Software

TfWAccountant® is the Telfarm Windows software program used on your farm to manage financial transactions. You enter day-to-day purchases, payments, sales and other financial transactions. You can use the program to generate your own detailed "on-farm" reports.

TfWCheckwriter® is a Windows software program that can be purchased by users of TfW Accountant®. Checks can be written to pay expenses and these transactions merged with the TfW Accountant® data.

Payroll Software

Pensoft Payroll Plus® is a Windows-based payroll program that Telfarm is pleased to offer as a companion to TfW Accountant® for clients who need both payroll and accounting.

Payroll - Accountant Link (PAL)

Payroll - Accountant Link is a software program that links Pensoft Payroll Plus® transactions to TfW Accountant® data. The payroll data becomes part of the accounting records.

Software Program Setup

An on-farm setup is included with the purchase of Telfarm supported software programs. A Telfarm staff member will make a visit to your farm, install the software and train you on how to use it on your equipment.

Annual Enrollment in Telfarm

Annual enrollment is required for additional services including beginning year updates and patches to the software. Each client receives a newsletter quarterly. Annual Farm Business Analysis with your local MSU Extension Agent is included. Unlimited computer program support with no additional fees is provided. MSU farm experts can be queried for the latest agricultural business advice.

Special Fees

Generating financial reports from previous years, short run depreciation reports and other special services that require extra processing time will be accessed a separate fee.

Levels of Support

Level I clients use on-farm software only.

Level II is a combination using both on-farm software and transmitting information to the Telfarm Center for additional reports.

Telfarm Form2: Financial data is submitted by you on paper forms to the Telfarm center. Financial reports are generated and mailed back to you.

Telfarm Bookkeeper: The client submits all financial transactions without filling out forms or using computer software. The transactions will be processed at the Telfarm center and reports mailed to the client.
