CANR Study Abroad Scholarships & Financial Aid

The CANR offers four scholarships to students in the College who participate in CANR-sponsored Study Abroad programs:
- CANR Study Abroad Scholarship
- The Thomas William Foltz Memorial Scholarship
- The Robert C. Davis Family Endowed Fund for Overseas Studies
- The Nancy H. and David E. Bull International Agricultural Travel Support Endowment
NOTE: Qualified students are encouraged to apply for scholarships available through both MSU and the CANR.
Scholarship Application Deadlines
Winter break 2016, Spring 2017 programs October 30, 2016
Spring break 2017 programs January 30, 2017
Summer 2017 and Fall 2017 programs March 15, 2017
NOTE: If the deadline falls on a weekend, applications are due the following Monday.
This scholarship is awarded by the CANR, with the amount and number of scholarships awarded varying depending on available funds. To be eligible, the applicant must be in good academic standing in the CANR and officially accepted in a credit-bearing CANR Study Abroad program. This $1,000 award was established to encourage CANR students to achieve their educational and professional goals. It is intended for students who have demonstrated the motivation to achieve these goals and the initiative to seek opportunities to further their progress. It is available to students in the CANR who have achieved junior level class status and have a GPA of at least 3.0. Preference is given to students who wish to study aboard in Africa, East/Southeast Asia or Latin America. Apply for this scholarship on the main CANR Study Abroad Scholarship application.
This scholarship was established through an estate gift from Gladys E. Davis, a teacher who strongly believed in the betterment of one’s self through education. Miss Davis was an avid traveler and supporter of international experiences. The scholarship amount varies and will be awarded to a CANR student who is enrolled in a Study Abroad program. This scholarship was established to give CANR students the opportunity to Study Abroad to pursue agricultural studies. Nancy H. and David E. Bull created it to enable CANR students to make direct contact with global communities within the context of a wide range of agriculture-related programs: production, research, extension, nutrition, distribution, marketing, safety and security.
