Meeting Minutes
May 3, 2006
The meeting was called to order by Vice-President Janet Tripp at 7:13 PM at the Fairgrounds. Corrected to reflect that the meeting was called to order by President James Janotzke upon arrival at 7:13pm.
Attendees: Janice Zerbe, Ron DeVries, Melva DeVries, Shannon Hoyt, Melva Thayer, Tammy Dykstra, Casey Tripp, Ken Tomsa, Terri Novotny, Kevin Novotny, Janet Tripp, Lizbeth Termeer, Alyssa Meachum, Jim Meachum, Vicki sue Hickmott, Leslie Papesh, Jim Hollis, Iris Swift, Nancy Whelan, Meghan TerMeer, Val Bury
Meeting minutes from the previous meeting were approved as presented. MMSC Janet & Ken
The treasurer’s report was accepted as presented. MMSC Melva T. & Casey
Received $50.00 from Almena Happy Helpers for the speaker system. There were no bills presented nor any additional correspondence.
Committee Reports: Fair
week work assignments were issued, and anyone interested in helping with gates or ribbons
will be welcomed.
Old business: The High Point trophy will be sponsored by Amanda and Charlie Soukup; the new trophy is ready. Horse Council will pay for the trophy initially and Soukups will donate the funds to Horse Council. MMSC Janet & Rusty.
Melva will announce at the show, Melva D will work entry booth with Tammy Dykstra. The food booth will be staffed with some of the teens for their community service.
New Business: There are 7 scheduled to work at the May work day, the balance will be working on June 25th 1-4. Kenny will be there to follow up on assignments.
$435.00 was collected from the exhibitors for Judge’s fees.
Val and Jimmy will have back numbers at the next meeting.
Kenny noted that we’ll need $100 cash for start up money for the show, MMSC Rusty & Casey.
We discussed new speakers in the top barn and changing the arrangement of some of them around.
Janet and Val will work on a Horse Council calendar.
We’ll call Lois Spencer again for the trail class.
The GW Traveling Teens allowed to sell 50/50 at the horse show, MMSC Jim and Casey.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM. MMSC Ken and Janet.
