The SEMESTER PROGRAM is designed for students in the agriculture, natural resources, and related areas who have a desire to learn more about Africa. Prior study of Africa is not required. Participating students take courses at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and transfer those credits to their degree program at their home institution. Links on this website will take you to syllabi for each course that is taught in the Faculty of Agriculture at UZ. I will work closely with each student and the student's home institution in order to select courses at UZ.The goal is to have each student take courses at UZ that will transfer to meet courses that are required in the student's academic program. If the appropriate courses are taken, the student's graduation date should not be delayed. At UZ, depending upon course scheduling and course enrollment limits, students may enroll in a variety of courses pertaining to the environment, land use, the agricultural sciences, agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, and agricultural education.
Program cost for tuition, room, board, and air travel is less than $6500 for MSU students. MSU students may apply for scholarships offered through the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Office of Overseas Study at MSU. You do not need to be an MSU student to participate in the program; although, tuition will be slightly higher for non-MSU students.I would enjoy having the opportunity to discuss the program with you.
