CR220 CROP PRODUCTION FOR AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERS

The course will introduce some: basic concepts about crop production
and in applied topics will emphasize agricultural engineering
applications.  The course will run over a period or 13 weeks, with
3 hours of lectures and practical sessions in alternate weeks.

5. Physioiogical basis of crop yield (4hrs)

6. Tillage principles and planting techniques (3hrs)

7. Principles of crop rotation (3hrs)

8. Production of maize-Example of grain crop (3hrs)

9. Production of potatoes - Example of root and tuber (3hrs)

10. Production of soybean example of a grain legume (3hrs)

11. Crop fertilizers and nutrients (3hrs)

12. Economics of Crop Production (3hrs)

13. Spray application technology (3hrs)

14. Weed Control in Crops (3hrs)
