Darwin Discovery Day

Charles Darwin did a number of experiments with plants.  For some of those experiments, his children collected data.  So our 2021 Darwin Day challenge is to start some plants at home.

  1. Start plants from seeds that are in your fridge or pantry.
  2. Start plants from scraps.
  3. Take the Plant Scraps Knowledge Test and receive a "Plant Scraps Master" Certificate.

Here are the details:

If you are a kid:

  • Start these experiments and put your parents to work collecting some of the data.
  • Report your successes (and failures) to us at the 4-H Children's Gardens - use the link below.
  • Take the Plant Scraps Knowledge Test and earn a Plant Scraps Master Certificate. (bottom of this page)

If you are a parent:

  • Start these experiments with your kids and both of you take the data.
  • Report your successes (and failures) to us at the 4-H Children's Gardens - use the link below.
