Here is some general information to make you visit to the 4-H Children's Gardens something really special. There is no admission fee to visit the gardens.

Hours

Outdoor 4-H Children's Gardens

The gardens are open from sunup to sundown every day from April 1st thru October 31st.

Indoor 4-H Children's Garden

The Indoor 4-H Children's Garden will be open to the public for Butterflies in the Garden on weekends only starting the weekend of April 13th and ending April 28th. Weekend hours are 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday.  Closed Easter Sunday.

We are in the Plant & Soil Sciences Building which is located on the corner of Wilson Road and Bogue Street on the campus of Michigan State University. (We are across from the Vet Clinic and kitty-corner from the Wharton Center). We look forward to seeing you!

Parking

The meters in the Horticulture Gardens parking lot are in effect from 7 am to 10 pm, Monday through Friday.  You must park in a space/lot designated as a "Pay by Plate" parking space.  Parking in a space not marked as "Pay by Plate" may result in a parking violation.  Signage has been installed in these areas. Immediately after parking, enter your license plate number and payment into the lot's SPOTON pay station or use the MSU SPOTON app.  Pay stations accept cash payment or credit cards.  The stations do not give change back nor are refunds issued for time paid for, but not used.

Restrooms

Our restrooms are open during garden hours from May 1st through October 31st (weather permitting).

Eating in the Gardens

There are two eating areas in the Children’s Garden for our visitors to enjoy. Both seat approximately 24 people. Please use available trash receptacles to dispose of all food waste.
