Interested in making a difference in your community? 4-H STEAM Corps is accepting applications for our 2021-2022 Summer Corps cohort. Summer Corps members serve in 450-hour or 300-hour positions from May through August, averaging 30 or 20 hours/week. All 4-H STEAM Corps members receive a living stipend biweekly throughout their term of service. The living stipend is considered taxable income. Upon successful completion of service, members receive an education award. The education award can be used to pay qualified student loans, tuition, and other educational expenses. The education award is good for seven years after it is earned. Members who are 55 or older at their time of service are eligible to transfer their education award to their child (including stepchildren and grandchildren).

We are currently looking for members to serve in counties across Michigan. Specific host counties include: Montcalm, Presque Isle, Roscommon, Wayne, and Wexford counties. If you don't see your county listed, please reach out anyway!

If you are interested in applying, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit an application for the position type you are interested in: 300-hour or 450-hour
  2. Interview with county 4-H staff
  3. Follow-up interview with Program Manager
  4. Receive an offer
  5. Schedule a virtual onboarding session with Program Manager and county 4-H Staff
