Who We Are

4-H STEAM Corps is an AmeriCorps*State program hosted by Michigan State University Extension. It places full-time, half-time and quarter-time members in counties across the state to provide science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) programming to local youth. Members plan, implement and evaluate 4-H SPIN clubs. Additionally, they recruit, screen, train, place and support volunteers to serve as SPIN club leaders, mentors, event volunteers, and guest programmers.

4-H STEAM Corps is a collaboration between national service members and county 4-H programs to reach underserved youth and improve attitudes toward STEAM subjects.

In the 2021-2022 service year, 4-H STEAM Corps has members serving in Alger, Allegan, Dickinson-Delta, Eaton, Isabella, Lapeer, Luce-Mackinac, Macomb, Marquette, Menominee, Oakland, Shiawassee, and Wayne counties.
