Faculty Participation in the Multicultural Apprenticeship Program

To protect the health and safety of our students, staff, sponsors and community partners during the novel coronavirus pandemic, we have canceled the CANR pre-college summer programs, including the Multicultural Apprenticeship Program, for 2020. We anticipate hosting the programs in 2021.

The CANR encourages faculty participation in the Multicultural Apprenticeship Program. If you are a CANR faculty member or chair, please take the time to personally invite faculty from your department to apply to mentor a student.

While the task of identifying MAP mentors is extremely challenging, being a mentor is extremely rewarding. MAP coordinators are seeking assistance in identifying research associates, postdocs, farm managers and graduate students who could also serve as potential mentors.

MAP provides $500 incentive grants to those faculty or graduate students to assist with costs associated with mentoring.
