Undergraduate Diversity

The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) offers students resources and support through the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. We encourage you to connect with us and get involved with the various activities taking place in our college. There are student organizations, guest speakers, events and a variety of other opportunities available for you to engage in.

During the spring and summer months, our office is highly involved with organizing and coordinating pre-college programs for students in grades 8-12. If you would like to learn more about our office, help out with recruitment and pre-college activities, or just simply have a conversation, please feel free to stop by and visit. Our office is located in room 121 Morrill Hall of Agriculture. Ask for Phillip Seaborn or Stephanie Chau.

Getting Involved

One of the easiest ways to develop a connection in the CANR is through involvement. CANR has several student organizations available for you to connect with. Our office, along with Dr. Eunice Foster, currently advises the MSU Chapter of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS). This organization was founded at Michigan State University and has blossomed into a national organization with chapters at several universities across the country offering both professional and personal development opportunities.

Today MANRRS has almost 1,700 members (latest briefing) in over 65 chapters in 38 states and Puerto Rico.
