Market Animal Sale
Are you interested in marketing livestock in Alpena County? Make sure to enroll in 4-H by March 1.
In order to be eligible to market livestock at the 2020 Alpena County Fair you must enroll in Alpena County 4-H by Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 4:30pm. Both your 4-H participation fee/scholarship and 4-H Online enrollment must be submitted by this deadline. Please note this deadline is final and no exceptions will be made.
Market Sale Rules
Are you 8 to 19 years old and live in Alpena County or a county that does not offer a market animal sale? If so, you are eligible to show market livestock at the Alpena County 4-H Market Animal Sale. Remember, you must enroll in Alpena County 4-H by March 1, 2020, and be a member of the Alpena County 4-H Market Club in order to be eligible to market livestock at the 2020 Alpena County Fair. Alpena County 4-H Livestock Club
If you are planning to market livestock at the 2020 Alpena County Fair, you must be a member of the Livestock Club.
4-H members must attend at least four of the Livestock Club meetings in order to be eligible to sell in the 2020 Alpena County 4-H Market Animal Sale. This club does not substitute a 4-H member from participating in their regular 4-H club. You must be a member of your regular 4-H club and the market club. Topics such as market sale rules, proper show techniques, pen displays, buyer thank you notes, livestock feed/nutrition and more will be discussed at these meetings. The Livestock Club meets at 6:00pm in the Merchant’s Building at the Alpena Fairgrounds.
2020 Market Club Meeting Dates: January 27, February 24, March 23, April 20, May 3, May 18, May 19, July 27, August 13.
