    • Free and open to youth of any age as supplies last
    • Youth will receive a pick up bag of supplies on location that includes a craft aimed at being a starter project as well as coupons.

Exploring with Scientists Series 

  • Exploring with Scientists, an online series, connects upper elementary and middle school students with graduate students conducting ecological research at the Station. Each of the three programs, which will be held on Zoom, will focus on a certain type of animal or insect and touch on how scientists collect data in the field. Participants will be able to submit questions related to natural history, research and science careers.

Michigan 4-H Walk Across the State Challenge

  • April 14 - May 31, 2021 
    • Based on the collective miles traveled by all participants, event organizers will track the virtual progress as we travel across the state of Michigan. Michigan geography, history and fun facts will then be shared with participants via email and social media weekly. Top placing individuals and teams will be recognized. All participants will receive a participation certificate at the end of the challenge no matter the accrued mileage or participation level.

4-H Coding Weekend

  • April 10, 11, and May 22 & 23, 2021 
    • Location: Via Zoom 
    • Open to youth in grades 9 - 12th 
    • Cost: $150.00 includes tech support and program fees. **Limited number of county scholarships in the amount of $100.00 to go towards the registration cost are available to Berrien County 4-H’ers. 4-H Embryology SPIN Club 

  • Join now and help grow baby chicks during the new 4-H Embryology SPIN Club! The Club has its own incubator and participants will be watching chicks hatch virtually! A FREE learning kit will be mailed directly to participants and is packed full of eggs-tremely fun supplies for club activities will be mailed to each participant. During the 4-H Embryology SPIN Club, we’ll explore parts of a chicken egg, incubator set up, incubation days 1-21 (daily chick development, candling, the hatch!), after the hatch, and chick handling.

  • This time, we’re going to use food to predict the future…in a sense.  Participants are going to learn how to craft their very own homemade fortune cookies as well as dispel a few of the myths surrounding the little treat that everyone gets when they visit a Chinese restaurant.

Show Your Money Smarts Contest

  • Do you want to learn how to avoid financial pitfalls and have an opportunity to win $1000 toward your post-secondary education or up to $250 cash? In this third annual Show Your Money Smarts Contest, Michigan youth age 14-19 will compete in this on-line quiz challenge taking place in April.

The 4-H Poetry Pack

Financial Realty Fair

  • Join us on April 28th at 4:00 pm for a real-life simulation activity that will challenge teens to see if they can live within their means on an income of someone just starting out in their career. This interactive financial program is open to high school students or young adults living at home. Throughout the program, there will be many temptations for additional spending, and students must learn to balance their wants and needs to live on their own. Participants will gain budgeting skills as they pay for their housing, utilities, transportation, clothing, food, entertainment and more.
