Conducting Research at CMERC

Researchers (MSU or non-MSU affiliated) can submit a request to use the site for research activities. Site use requests must be reviewed and pre-approved to ensure that activities can be accommodated.

Please submit your request to abr.cmerc@msu.edu - you should receive a response back within 5 business days. In the request, please include the following information:

  • Primary Contact Person for Project
  • Name(s) and Contact Info of Principal Investigator(s) 
  • Name(s) and Contact Info of Additional Project Staff 
  • Who will be On Site at CMERC?
  • Institution and Department
  • Desired Start Date and End Date
  • Title of Research Project/Activity
  • Funding Source(s)
  • Will you be handling vertebrate animals? Please include copy of IACUC approval. 
  • Will you be collecting specimens (please describe)?
  • Will you be performing environmental manipulations (please describe)?
  • What is your plan for data collection with CMERC?
  • Description of Research Activities (Please limit to one paragraph)
  • Location of Research Activities (refer to facilities map and trail maps)
  • Anticipated Research Schedule (include frequency, time of day, etc.)
  • Will building access or equipment storage be needed?
