Lansing Region PPE Collection and Aggregation

This information is current as of 2pm on March 23, 2020.

Partners and Colleagues:

In the last 48 hours, the human medical community locally, regionally and nationally has been experiencing a significant shortage of desired personal protective equipment (PPE) ( for use with suspect- and positive COVID-19 patients in clinical centers and hospitals.

Working closely with our on-campus colleagues at Environmental Health Services (EHS), the MSU Extension Food Processing Innovation Center (FPIC) will serve as a collection and aggregation site of PPE for public donations and off-campus partners who are not already donating PPE through other means.

(Please Note: MSU researchers who require tracking of donated supplies should refer to the email sent yesterday by Dr. Claire Hankenson

Requests for UNOPENED and UNUSED supplies include:

  • Hand sanitizer
  • PAPRs (powered air-purifying respirators)
  • Surgical/face mask
  • Nitrile gloves
  • N95 (respirator) masks
  • Face shields
  • Safety glasses
  • Disinfectant wipes and spray
  • Eyeglass shields
  • Ethanol/rubbing alcohol
  • Disposable surgical gowns
  • Microbial culture swabs
  • Hand-sewn reusable masks
