In response to Governor Gretchen Whitmer's "Stay Home, Stay Safe" Executive Order, there is a temporary pause in all ongoing laboratory and field research activity.
All faculty must now immediately initiate steps outlined in the linked spreadsheet provided by MSU Environmental Health and Safety to preserve a safe campus environment, protect key equipment, and further equip remaining members of your research teams.
Faculty should not presume that their research will be among the exceptions to the Governor’s Executive Order, and plan accordingly.
If you believe your research falls into the essential category, please fill out this form and return to your department chair, school director or institute director as soon as possible. If your chair, school director or Institute director support and approve your request, they will forward to Drs. Doug Buhler and George Smith for review and copy Dr. Jeff Dwyer. Waiver requests must clearly and explicitly state the relationship of the proposed activity to guidelines for essential research in order to be consider for an exception.
