Welcome back, alumni!

You may remember us as the Department of Community, Agriculture, Recreation, and Resource Studies (CARRS). And, with so many changes, we understand it’s hard to keep track. Our department name is now the Department of Community Sustainability (CSUS) – and it’s one that we consider you a member of!

As a department we are committed to better understanding the links between humans and the environment and we have dedicated our programs to improving environmental outcomes through education, communication, and outreach, while recognizing the important place that agriculture and development have in our lives. In particular we are growing in our ability to study both rural and urban systems, and we have particular foci in researching food systems, international development, and human recreational behavior.

We think it’s important that we connect ALL of our graduates together in a growing alumni community. Maybe it was a fellow student or one of our talented faculty who made an impact in your life.

We know you are busy and may not have time to come by, but we’d like to hear from you! Let us know what you’re up to, share your advice with our undergraduates and read more about what’s going on in the Department of Community Sustainability – your department.
