Usage

Use Organization when you’re adding a defined group of people with a similar purpose. For instance, an office within the college is an Organization; a department is an Organization; an institute is an Organization; a club or committee is an Organization.

Fields

Title

Title is the headline text indicating the nature of the Organization below it. Titles in the Organization content type should be written in sentence case and have action words and verbs that describe the Organization.

Summary

This further describes the Organization. The summary will appear on the Organization page and on index pages.

Image

Optional but highly preferred, insert image that is the highest quality and with appropriate permissions.

Image Description

Required when there is an image, describe the image for those using a screen reader (serves as alternate text).

Social Media Image

Not required, should be different from the image description, related and relevant to the article.

Banner Image

This image will appear at the top of the Organization page.

Banner Button

This allows clickable buttons on banner images. You can have three banner buttons max. Include text for the button in Key and the URL to link to in Value.

Child Banner Image

This allows narrow banners on subpages. 

Address

This is the physical address of the Organization, not a PO box.

Telephone

This is the phone number of the Organization.

Fax Number

This is the fax number of the Organization.

Email

This is the general point of contact email address for the Organization.

Relationships

Organization-Organization (Parent)

This is where Organizations related to other Organizations can be related. 

Organization-Organization (Child)

This is where Organizations related to other Organizations can be related.

Organization-Digital Document

Any documents that are associated with this Organization.

Organization-Course

This will be used mainly by Organizations and users who submit courses. 

Organization-Gallery Image

This is where images related to this Organization can be related.

Organization-Person (Member-of)

This is any Organization that a person is a member of -- for example, committees, MSU Extension institutes, etc. It is possible for a person to have more than one ‘member of’. This could be displayed in the person’s profile. If more specific, or organizations that aren’t in the system, use the organization field to enter manually.

Organization-Publication

Displays the publications that the Organization was featured in.

Organization-Gallery Video

This is where videos related to this Organization can be related.

Organization-Article

This is any Article that the Organization is affiliated with. It is possible for an Organization to to be affiliated with more than one Article.

Posting-Organization

Any jobs posted at this organizations site.

Hiring-Organization

Any jobs an organization is hiring for.

Organization-Place

Any place that this Organization has been associated with.

Organization-Event

Any events that are associated with this Organization.

Organization-Custom Link

Organization-Dataset

Any Dataset that this Organization has been associated with.

Organization-Series

A series of information that is related to this Organization.

Organization-Person (Works-for)

This is the Organization for which a person works. It is possible for a person to have more than one ‘works for’. This could be displayed in the person’s profile. If more specific, or organizations that aren’t in the system, use the organization field to enter manually.
