Math & Early Childhood

Children learn through play--even important math skills. Through play experiences, young children are learning important math concepts like numbers and operations, algebra and patterns, geometry, measurement and data analysis and probability. By exploring the world around them, children are learning and practicing important mathematical concepts that will form the foundation for their future math learning. You can help prepare your child to be a math

Adults serve an important role in helping children explore math concepts. By encouraging children to investigate and experiment with math concepts in the world around them, encouraging children to observe, listen and experiment children can build critical math skills.
