Entomology Major Courses

The Entomology program at MSU prepares students for a wide variety of science careers. Many Entomology graduates go on to careers in medical and veterinary science, integrated pest management and pest science, and ecology and sustainability studies.

Undergraduate Entomology Courses

Entomology courses are offered at different times of the year.

  • ENT 205: Pests, Society & the Environment (3 credits): Offered in fall, spring, summer.
  • ENT 264: Turfgrass Entomology (3 credits): Offered in fall.
  • ENT 404: Fundamentals of Entomology (4 credits): Offered in fall.
  • ENT 407 (enroll in PLP 407): Diseases & Pests of Forests & Shade Trees (4 credits): Offered in spring.
  • ENT 422: Aquatic Entomology (3 credits): Offered in spring 2021, fall 2022.
  • ENT 451: Insect Physiology (3 credits): Offered in spring of even years.
  • ENT 460: Medical Entomology (3 credits): Offered in spring of odd years.
  • ENT 477: Pesticides in Pest Management (3 credits): Offered in fall of even years.
  • ENT 479: Organic Pest Management (3 credits): Offered in spring.
