Title

Resilient & Climate Smart Training & Education for the Professionals in the South

Description

This presentation focuses on the findings of a needs assessment survey titled "Survey of Professionals on Understanding and Preference Toward Resilient Forestry." The survey aimed to evaluate the current understanding, perceived needs, and knowledge gaps of forestry and natural resource professionals in the southern U.S., specifically related to Climate Smart Forestry (CSF) and forest resilience to natural disturbances. The speaker also plans to share the results of a preliminary study on the implications of the dynamic baseline approach for the forest carbon offsets on the 17,000 acres of the Clemson Experimental Forest.  The Clemson Experimental Forest, located in South Carolina, serves as a case study for small landowner engagement, where dynamic baselines have been tested to align credits with regional management practices.
