4-H Dog Youth & Adult Workshop

MSU Extension 4-H Youth Development is pleased to offer an opportunity designed to assist 4-H dog project leaders and youth build their knowledge and skill in understanding various dog care, management and training topics. Lunch and snacks will be provided. An email will be sent to participants one week prior to the session confirming attendance and providing any additional instructions. Casual dress is appropriate. The session will be held at Anthony Hall on the campus of Michigan State University and taught by seasoned professionals. All 4-H leaders and youth 4-H aged 8 to 19 are encouraged to attend.
There is a $25 registration fee, which covers snacks, lunch, and workshop materials. There are no refunds after March 1. Parents wanting to attend with their children MUST register for the event.
Sessions will include:
- Showmanship Skills
- Canine Good Citizenship, Trick Dogs & Therapy Dogs
- Conditioning your dog for performance events
- Advanced Obedience
- Teaching use of platforms: Improving dogs position and focus while training for dog sports & more.
