The popular 4-H Ski & Snowboard Program is a fantastic opportunity for youth in grades 1 to 12 to learn to ski or snowboard or brush up on their skills! (Kindergarteners will need to wait until next year!) Again this year we offer the 4-H Jr. Ski Patrollers Program, which is geared toward more advanced level skiers. Held at The Homestead Resort in Glen Arbor, Michigan, the one-hour group lessons, run each Sunday afternoon, beginning Jan. 6 through Feb. 24, 2019 (no class on Jan 20 or Feb 17). Specific lesson times and rates vary; download the program flyer for complete details. Pre-registration is required and the registration deadline is Monday, Dec. 17, 2018. Lesson attendance is REQUIRED each week, or 4-H reserves the right to discontinue participation without a refund.

"Open Ski" is available from 11 a.m. until the lesson starts, and after the lesson until 4 p.m. Immediate families of participants are invited to ski or board on lesson days at a reduced rate (get a voucher at the 4-H Desk). Also, a "Free Day" of open ski/board, compliments of The Homestead, will be on March 3, 2019 from 12-4 p.m. The Homestead extends a free lift ticket to LEELANAU COUNTY 5th graders. Contact The Homestead directly to take advantage of this generous offer 231-334-5000.

Registration is a two-step process: First, click "Participant Online Registration" below and fill in all required fields, and pay online using a credit/debit card. (If you choose to pay by check, you will need to print your confirmation / invoice, and mail it with payment directly to Michigan State University.) Second, register the participant as a 4-H Member of “4-H Downhill Ski & Snowboard Club” or "4-H Homestead Jr Ski Patrollers", depending on what you registered for, online at mi.4honline.com. You must do both steps to be considered registered for the program. No refunds issued after Dec. 28, 2018.

An email with assigned time, color group and other details will be MAILED to registered participants the last week of December.

This is a fun, educational experience for youth to learn how to not only ski or snowboard, but also gain confidence!
