Text American Rescue Plan Act of 2021: a unique opportunity to invest in Michigan communities on a background with the American flag and dome of a capitol building

The Michigan Association of Regions and MSU Extension invite local and tribal government officials to explore Local Fiscal Recovery Fund spending opportunities in a regional context. This is a unique opportunity to make critical investments to reshape Michigan communities. Tribal governments too will have new opportunities to invest in infrastructure, facilities, and services with dedicated ARPA recovery funds. Regional impacts of stimulus spending will vary by region, but those governments that spend to build capacity and infrastructure to leverage other public and private investment, while considering the region, will likely see the greatest return on investment.

Join other local leaders to learn about:

  • ARPA Local Fiscal Recovery Fund Basic Rules
  • Best Practices for Local Fiscal Recovery Fund Spending
  • Practical Considerations for Contracts, Accounting, and Project Management
  • Group Discussions Related to Regional Collaboration
  • Leveraging Other State and Federal Funding and Priorities

The workshops are intended for regional planning and development board members, other local elected and appointed officials, tribal government officials, economic development practitioners, and other public and non-profit community development organization staff.

Master Citizen Planners (MCP) attending the workshops will earn 3 continuing education hours.

Cost:  There is no cost to attend but preregistration is required.
