The 2020 Branch County Farmers Day will once again be held on President's Day, February 17, 2020. Doors open at 9:00 AM at the Branch Area Careers Center (366 Morse Street, Coldwater, MI) and attendees can visit vendor booths before the first educational sessions begin at 10:00 AM. Morning session options include a wide range of topics including field crop disease management updates, 2018 Farm Bill update, how to manage sugar, salt and fat for healthy eating, Youth for the Quality Care of Animals, and more. Lunch will be served with more time to visit vendor booths prior to afternoon educational sessions. These topics include water and soil health, foreign animal disease, reinventing agritourism in Branch County, more field crop management topics, and more. Two pesticide recertification credits will be available during each field crops session. Cost for the meeting is $3 with no pre-registration required. MDARD will also be on site to offer pesticide certification exams. Those testing must sign up with MDARD prior to the event (www.Michigan.gov/pestexam or 1-800-292-3939) and bring a check for the appropriate amount ($50 for Private, $75 for Commercial) payable to the State of Michigan.
