Roundtable Promo_Megan McManus.pngThe Lake Michigan School Food System Innovation Hub is a new, USDA-funded, grant-making initiative working across our region (IL, MI, WI, IN) to drive change in the school food system. Spark Awards and Innovative Collaborative Awards will support projects that foster collaborations to nourish students, connect schools with local farms and businesses, and celebrate our region’s cultures and communities. The first round of Innovation Hub awards begins early 2024 with applications open on February 1st and due on April 30th.

This series of virtual roundtable discussions will help connect potential Innovation Hub applicants in their regions to share and discuss their visions and project ideas with one other. Roundtables are open to anyone interested in the Innovation Hub awards, such as school personnel, farmers or food suppliers, staff from community organizations, and more. We’ll start the event with a brief overview of the Innovation Hub and time to answer audience questions. Afterwards, we’ll divide participants into interactive breakout groups based on their Michigan region of interest: Upper Peninsula, Northwest, West Central, Southwest, Northeast, East Central, Southeast, and Central.
