The Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative invites you to join us for a four-part virtual professional learning series: Communicating About Climate Change in Our Classrooms and Communities.
This series is designed to help teachers-and their students-communicate effectively about the climate crisis.
The series features specific strategies and tools to help people navigate climate conversations in classrooms and communities. It also provides support for the planning and fielding of climate actions at a scale that feels right for each attendee.
Whether it's practicing a single strategy, or using a specific tool in the classroom, or fielding a more complex place-based project in the community, it's all good!
WHAT & WHEN:
Session 1 (October 11, 2022. 4-6 PM): Learn why communication about climate change is key, then examine climate communication tools and strategies for use with and by your students.
Session 3 (December 6, 2022. 4-6 PM): Refine a strategy, tool, or project idea from Sessions 1 and 2, then interact with peers for feedback and support.
WHO: This virtual learning series is for K-12 educators and administrators, university students and student teachers, non-formal educators, community organizations, and anyone interested in learning how to communicate more effectively about climate change.
SCECHs are available for sessions 2 and 3.
