September 19th features Maria Garcia's talk entitled "Rural women's empowerment in Colombia. Bringing together Feminist Political Ecology and Gender and Development."

Seminar Summary: This talk summarizes Maria’s doctoral dissertation preliminary findings. She proposes a theoretical framework to understand rural women’s empowerment from a gender-transformative view, by merging the contributions of the Gender and Development School of thought and the Feminist Political Ecology community of practice. Then, she uses this framework in a qualitative case study with rural women and men participating in a development project in Colombia.
