Fly Tying for Beginners Workshop Series

Do you love fishing? Have you ever wanted to learn how to tie a fly? 

Saginaw 4-H MSU Extension and the Mershon-Neumann Heritage Chapter of Trout Unlimited are teaming up to offer a Fly Tying for Beginners Workshop Series!    

The workshop will take place at the Saginaw Field and Stream Club from 6:00-7:30pm on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, February 6
  • Thursday, February 8
  • Thursday, February 22
  • Tuesday, February 27

The class will teach you how to use basic fly-tying equipment and tying techniques broken down into simple steps.  The class will cover four different flies, each fly building on the skills learned in the previous week. 

This series is great for beginners or those who are interested in practicing their fly-tying skills. 

This class is open to youth ages 9-19. 

A parent/guardian must attend with youth under the age of 14.   

All materials and supplies will be provided. 

  • Week 1: Streamer
  • Week 2: Nymph
  • Week 3 Wet Fly
  • Week 4: Dry Fly

Registration is for all 4 classes and is required to ensure we have enough supplies for each youth.  Space is limited!
