Topic: Systems Thinking for Understanding U.S. National Forest Governance Dynamics

Management of the U.S. national forest estate is increasingly accomplished via networks that span multiple scalar levels and include diverse state, private firm, community, and civil society actors. “Systems thinking” approaches to studying governance processes contribute to our understanding of these complex dynamics by focusing on causal pathways and feedback dynamics. In this talk I will present a model of U.S. national forest governance dynamics and describe the application of a systems thinking
