More Than 1,2,3: Math and Early Childhood

Early experiences with mathematical concepts lay the foundation for formal math instruction later in life. Adults can help children learn important math skills by helping them explore early childhood mathematical concepts and strategies to support children’s development of foundational math skills. This workshop will help participants identify the key math concepts outlined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, expand skills in creating math activities for children that are interactive and developmentally appropriate, increase their understanding of math skills and concept development and develop a level of confidence and comfort in supporting children’s mathematical power.

Extension Extras Parenting Hour is a free online series of parenting workshops that provides guidance for parents of young children as they navigate the joys, challenges and concerns of parenting.

Participants will receive a certificate for attending this class.
