The Parent Talk System teaches the parent or caregiver a series of verbal skills and language patterns to help them raise responsible, respectful children while reducing stress, strain and family conflict. The program features effective ways of talking to children that enhance self-esteem, stimulate learning and encourage autonomy. The Parent Talk Series consists of six, 2 hour modules designed to help parents. The 6 session topics include: * Teaching Response-ability * Setting Limits with Children * Choices and Consequences * Praise, Criticism, & Self-Esteem * Promoting Independence * Encouraging Character Classes will be held 9/10, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/16 & 10/22. Childcare and activities provided by the Cadillac Library. Program provided due to a grant from the Cadillac Area Community Foundation. The money from this grant will support 2 parent education programs being held in Cadillac.
