Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Are you going through the motions and emotions of being a caregiver? This program will help you take care of yourself while caring for a relative or friend.  You will benefit from the class whether you are helping a parent, spouse, friend or someone who lives at home, in a nursing home, or across the country. This is a FREE 6 week series workshop, registration is required.

The course surrounds YOU the caregiver including:

  • Ways to help you reduce stress
  • Solutions to communicate effectively with other family members, your doctor, paid help
  • Signs and steps towards your better self-care
  • Reducing guilt, anger and depression
  • Helpful ways you can relax
  • Making tough decisions
  • Setting goals and problem-solving

The class covers the following topics:

  • Hiring in-home help
  • Understanding depression
  • Helping memory-impaired elders
  • Making decisions about driving
  • Making legal and financial decisions
  • Making decisions about care facility placement
  • Communicating with other family members
  • Planning, creating and using agendas for casual family meetings

Series is 6 sessions - May 20 (off May 27), June 3, 10, 17, 24 & July 1, 2019
