Is your organization, community, group, or team in need of a facilitated process, also known as the practice of designing and leading collaborative processes that help a group achieve a common goal? MSU Extension and the National Charette Institute will help your group leave with priorities for future action in just three hours! SG3 is a NEW half-day, highly interactive, facilitated planning workshop for teams of 6-8 people who will identify priorities and draft a plan to implement them. This process is ideal for associations, commodity groups, non-profits, planning commissions (think CIP or the vision for a master plan), county commissioners/city councils/township boards (think annual goal setting), and any group looking to make a plan and achieve it.

How does SG3 work?

Before the workshop, your group will be assigned an MSU Extension facilitator as coach and instructor to guide your group through the process. The facilitator will meet 1-2 times with your group’s leader to understand the desired outcomes and customize the group’s facilitation.

Then, on the day of the SG3 workshop, your group will join up to 9 other groups (60-80 people) in a brief plenary session to learn about the process to setting group goals. After the plenary instruction, each group gets its own space to convene with their facilitator coach and work through the SG3 process. Within 3 hours, your group will have made goals and a plan to achieve them. It is that simple!

An online VIRTUAL SG3 session will be held on January 25, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to Noon via Zoom and will use Miro.

Cost: $400.00 per group/team.

Prior to registering for SG3, groups should identify a group leader and be prepared to answer “What is your goal for the facilitation? What is the main question you hope gets answered at the end of the session?”

Due to the interactive nature of the program and level of engagement required, participants are asked to engage fully during the three hours without phone calls, meetings and other interruptions that might diminish the experience for all.

Who should attend?

It is important for people who are managing communities, organizations, and nonprofits to plan!  The Setting Group Goals for Growth workshop can help YOU!
