Zoom online live webinar

Summer is a time for many of us to relax with vacations, school breaks, and spending time with friends and family. However, as summer ends many of us are dreading the busyness that fall schedules can bring. The Summer Self-Care Series is for anyone who wants to learn skills to reduce stress and to increase enjoyment in their life, no matter what season.

Join us for an online series to learn self-care strategies for you! A different topic will be covered during each session. You can attend one, two, or all three sessions.

Changing Negative Self Talk

Do you ever feel like your thoughts are spiraling in a negative direction? What if we talked to ourselves like we did with a good friend? You can! During this session participants will learn about the brain’s negativity bias and how it affects our response to stress. In addition, we will talk about the benefits of positive self-talk and explore other tools for dealing with negative self-talk.

Brief Practices in Mindfulness

Research has shown that practicing mindfulness is effective in reducing stress-related symptoms such as worry, depression and physical tension, and may be helpful in managing chronic conditions. Curious to know more about mindfulness without committing to a five or six-week series? This session introduces brief practices in mindfulness, such as mindful breathing, grounding, brief body scan, and a seated meditation.
