Learning Exchange Series: Tax Dimensions of Forest Carbon Projects

January 4, 2023 3:00PM - 4:00PM

Tax Dimensions of Forest Carbon Projects

Many forest landowners are excited about the potential to receive payments for carbon.  What can’t get lost in the discussion is not just how much money will be coming in but also how that will be reported on the tax return and whether it will affect property taxes?  Dr. Cushing will discuss the relevant federal income tax implications as well as potential issues related to state taxes.
